Doka is a global manufacturer of formwork and falsework systems, headquartered in Austria. The company develops high-performance falsework props and slab formwork systems that are used on construction sites worldwide, helping contractors achieve both higher productivity and improved safety.

Among its product lineup, the Eurex series—known for its lightweight design and high load-bearing capacity—and Dokadek 30, a panel-type system used in combination with props, are particularly well suited to projects where fast and efficient slab construction is required.

This article introduces some of the representative falsework props offered by Doka, along with real-world examples of their application.

Situations suitable for Eurex 100 plus

The Eurex 100 plus is an aluminum prop designed for slab falsework applications. It can support loads of up to 128 kN, and even the longest model weighs only around 29 kg, making it easy to erect and dismantle, even when working at height.

Height adjustment is quick and straightforward thanks to the quick-motion screw, while the self-cleaning thread design prevents concrete buildup.

This reduces the risk of thread binding, eliminates the need for cleaning, and ensures smooth loosening during dismantling, allowing for an immediate transition to the next construction phase.

The prop is also well suited to repeated use and frequent re-shuttering. It is particularly easy to handle on fast-cycle sites, such as falsework for beams and ceiling slabs.

Its lightweight construction reduces the physical burden of manual handling and height adjustment, helping to achieve both improved safety and higher work efficiency.

Dokadek 30

Situations suitable for Dokadek 30

Dokadek 30 is well suited to slab construction that primarily uses Eurex series props for falsework.

By combining Dokadek 30 with props such as the Eurex 30 top or Eurex 20 top, the system allows the formwork panels to be stripped at an early stage while leaving the props in place after concreting. Thanks to the drop-head design, the props can be reused efficiently, shortening the overall reuse cycle.

The system fully utilizes the load capacity of the props while combining lightweight panels with efficient assembly. As a result, it enables efficient falsework planning for large-area slab construction and sites with repetitive work cycles.

Doka Falsework Props—Application Example

HTL St. Pölten technical high school building project

At the construction site of the HTL St. Pölten technical high school building in Austria, Dokadek 30 was used for slab construction covering an area of approximately 17,000 m².

With crane use being limited, a hand-set system combined with Eurex falsework props was adopted, achieving a high installation speed of about 12 minutes per square meter. Since all work could be carried out from floor level, the need for working at height was reduced, contributing to improved site safety.

The system also proved easy to adapt to acute wall angles and complex floor layouts, allowing re-use and infill areas to be handled smoothly. Thanks to the Xlife sheet, the finished concrete surface was uniform and visually high quality. Overall, the solution was highly regarded for successfully combining construction quality with excellent work efficiency.

Multi-residential building project

At the CityCentre project in Houston, Texas, USA, Dokaflex S was selected for the construction of a two-level parking structure and the surrounding multi-residential buildings.

The project features a layout with a residents’ swimming pool at the center and was completed within 12 months. The solution flexibly accommodated slabs with varying story heights, enabling efficient concrete placement.

The lightweight panels and simple assembly concept of Dokaflex helped reduce working time. Even in the restricted working spaces around the residential buildings, the system enabled high-precision slab construction.
