Mabey Hire offers rental services for a variety of falsework props, from lightweight Adjustable Props to Mass 25, which supports high loads.

This article summarizes the features of Mabey Hire’s rental services and provides examples of rental products.

Features of Rental Services Offered by Mabey Hire

Rapid supply of base materials from nationwide locations

A supply network spanning the entire United Kingdom is a strength of Mabey Hire.

With supply depots established in major regions such as Aberdeen and Cardiff, Mabey Hire quickly supplies equipment from the depot nearest to the site.

By combining design and supply under one service, Mabey Hire reduces the need for customers to define every technical detail—saving time and simplifying coordination. This contributes to shortening construction periods by reducing the time required for delivery and collection.

Provision of a stable one-stop support system

Mabey Hire supports the entire process, from advance temporary works planning through the supply, installation, real-time monitoring during operation, and removal of components. One of its features is that it eliminates the hassle of coordination between contractors.

For particularly high-risk projects, a 24-hour emergency enquiry service is available to handle unexpected issues, including those occurring at night.

Adjustable Props

Features of Adjustable Props

These falsework props are suitable for supporting light to medium loads, such as walls, ceiling slabs, and formwork. The design allows for easy adjustment of height and provides excellent on-site maneuverability. They are ideal for short construction periods, small-scale falsework, or temporary reinforcement requiring a fast response.

The props are capable of supporting an axial load of up to approximately 35 kN (single prop). Adjustable Props comply with the British safety standard EN 1065 and have been tested in accordance with BS 4074:1982 / BS 5507-3:1982.

A U-shaped head is attached to the tip to provide stable support for beams, and a Lincoln Pin is used for height adjustment to prevent accidental disengagement, incorporating features that enhance overall safety.

Features of Mass 10

Mass 10 is a modular falsework prop used for demolition work, formwork support, and parapet replacement.

The main component, the soldier (a steel primary girder used in falsework), is lightweight at 16 kg per meter, allowing manual assembly and installation without the use of heavy machinery. Mass 10 is suitable for use in locations with poor accessibility or where lightweight materials are required.

With seven prop lengths ranging from 150 mm to 2,700 mm, the system can be flexibly configured to match on-site conditions.

Features of Mass 25

Mass 25 is a modular falsework prop designed to accommodate medium- to high-load applications, such as facade (external wall) retention of high-rise buildings and providing horizontal shoring (temporary support) for large-span structures with wide intervals between columns. Mass 25 has a load capacity of up to 340 kN and can be used in both vertical and horizontal directions.

Mass 25 is compatible with both hydraulic jacks and mechanical jacks, allowing the use of hydraulic lifting during installation followed by precise mechanical locking after placement.
